OFFICIAL NHSA CONVENTION STATEMENT

The Greek Students' Association at the University of Toronto is proud to announce that the GSA/HSA's of York, Ryerson, and the University of Toronto have officially won the bid to bring the National Hellenic Student Association Convention to Toronto this spring. The Convention will take place on Friday April 27th until Sunday April 29th 2012. It will be held at the University of Toronto St. George Campus and Ryerson University.
The purpose of this convention is to unite students of Hellenic descent from North American universities and colleges in Toronto. This conference will enable students to engage in academic excellence surrounding the culture of our Diaspora. We are planning to mobilize approximately 150 American students and 50 Canadian students. Our task is to transport them to Toronto, arrange hotel accommodations, bring in keynote speakers from Toronto, Ottawa, and Greece, arrange panel discussions with the keynote speakers and mentors, and achieve the most successful NHSA convention in history.
The weekend will consist of an introductory group dinner, key note speeches and interactive panel discussions, a mentorship fair, professionals lunch (combining our keynote speakers and mentors with students), an organized social night, and finally, an NHSA Executive election. Since all of our GSA/HSA's are non-for profit student organizations we will need as much financial support as possible to make this convention successful.
A more detailed email with the Convention's theme, schedule, panel topics, and budget will be presented to you shortly. As well, we will be including our Sponsorship Package in hopes of acquiring as much financial aid as possible for this event.
Thank you,
Dimitri Kyriakakis Kelly Kefalianos
Presidents of the Greek Students' Association at the University of Toronto.
