• The Honourable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, joined by Mr. Vasilis Sklavos, Editor of the Greek-Canadian newspaper “Evdomada” (March 8th 2010).

• The Honorable D. Azemopoulos partecipated and addressed the Annual Dinner of the Philoptohos of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Panteleimon in Markham. The major highlight of the event was the award bestowed to the President of the Hellenic Hope and great philanthropist Mr. John Dagonas for his impressive and life long charity activities. The Consul General praised Mr. Dagonas, underlining that ''he is a most bright light for the whole Greek Community, an angel of kindness who spares no efforts in the service of mankind''. His Eminence Bishop Nikitas from California addressed the 500 guests present at the event and expressed his full support for the completion of the Church of St. Panteleimon (Sunday of the Cross, March 7th, 2010).

• The Honorable D. Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, participated in the celebration of International Women' s Day (Sunday , March 7th, 2010).

• The Honorable D. Azemopoulos attended the Sunday service at the Greek Orthodox Church of St.Panteleimon in Markham. The service was celebrated by His Eminence the Bishop Nikitas from California (Sunday of the Cross, March 7th, 2010).

• A record turnout of more than 550 guests marked this year's most successful Gala of the Panmessinian Association “Papaflessas – Ipapanti” of Toronto . The Association bestowed to the Hon. Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, a certificate of recognition for his contribution to the strengthening of the spirit of unity of the Hellenic Diaspora in Toronto as well as his commendable efforts to inspire the Greek Youth while defending the everlasting values of our Nation. In the certificate it is underlined that his unprecedented commitment,his high sense of integrity and his faith make the Consul General of Greece a bright beacon of hope for the Hellenism in Toronto as he sets a solid example for the generations to come.
  A salient feature of the evening was the brave and most kind gesture of the President of the Association Mr. Kostas Kremidas who announced that after a ten year successful term as President of the Association he decided to resign and thus open up the way for the new generation to take over (March 6th, 2010).

• An amazing ‘’surprise party’’ took place in “Myth” to honor the 1st year of the Hon. Consul General’s diplomatic mission in Toronto. The event was organized jointly by the Daughters of Penelope, the Hellenic Heritage Foundation, AHEPA-Toronto, the Hellenic Canadian Lawyers Association, the Hellenic Canadian Board of Trade. The event was also supported by the Panmessinian Association ‘’Ipapanti-Papaflessas’’, the Association of the Athenians and the Brotherhood of Pontion ‘’Panagia Soumela’’.
  
  The organizers bestowed to the Hon. Consul General “a certificate of recognition and appreciation for his efforts, unwavering dedication, zeal and exceptional work in uniting the Hellenic Community of Toronto”.
  
  The Government of Ontario sent the Hon. Mr. Azemopoulos a congratulations’ letter in which it is stated, among others, that Toronto is well served by Consul General’s unprecedented inroads and the many alliances, partnerships and relationships initiated and nurtured by him. His efforts resonate beyond the Greek Canadian community and beyond the Great Toronto Area.
  
  The event was attended by more than 300 guests, mainly youth, and a great number of most distinguished leaders of the Greek and Cypriot Communities (March 4th, 2010).

• The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, with Mr. George Tourlakis, University Professor and Undergraduate Program Director of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at York University and Ms. Efstratia Karagrigoriou (Consular Officer responsible for University matters). The purpose of the meeting was to explore all avenues in order to increase the level of academic co-operation between York University and University of Crete. Prof. Tourlakis asked the Consul General to consider the possibility for University students from both sides to engage in a dual University Degree programme (March 4th 2010).

• The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, joined by Mr. Kottas, Greek-Canadian writer, elaborating the preparation of his forthcoming book about the Greatest Ancient Greek philosophers (March 3rd 2010).

• The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, joined by Dr. Dimitrios G. Oreopoulos (Professor of Medicine – University of Toronto, cor. Member – ACADEMY OF ATHENS, Ex-President, Intern. Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, Toronto Western Hospital – University Health Network) on March 3rd 2010.

• The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, joined by Mr. Howard Lichtman, President of the Taste of Danforth festival 2010 Committee, Ms. Katerina Haralabidi, Head of the Greek National Tourism Organization and Mr. Christos Gribas, Trade Commissioner at the Consulate General of Greece (March 1st 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, addressed the Greek Community fund raising event (Sunday, February 28th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, addressed the participants of the charity event organized by the Association of '' Agios Petros Kinourias'' together with the Management of the Flipper's House. He asked them to support the purchase of an adapted vehicle to be provided to a person suffering from multiple sclerosis. The amount collected within the record time of 1hour and 30 min. was 33.000 dollars.
  The Hon. Consul General warmly thanked the donors for their unprecedented and quick response to his plea, underlining that by serving those in need we serve God and our Nation while at the same time we fill our hearts with energy, hope and joy (Sunday, February 28th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, attended the Sunday service at the Greek Orthodox church of St. Demetrios (Sunday, February 28th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, addressed the Hellenic Hope 6th Annual ''HAVE A HEART FUNDRAISING GALA''. The Hon. D. Azemopoulos expressed his most sincere support to the efforts of the Hellenic Hope to purchase a larger building that will accommodate the growing requirement of a daily program for the young people with special needs while at the same time provide overnight accommodation for them. The Hon. Consul General praised the hard work and dedication of the parents of all our Special Needs Persons. He underlined that together we must support each other to continue TO PROVIDE IN EVERY WAY FOR THOSE CHILDREN WHO CANNOT PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES. Over 550 guests attended this year' s Gala which was a tremendous success. Generous donations marked this very successful event.
  The Hon. Consul General announced that the prestigious Hellenic Heritage Foundation donated the amount of 50.000 dollars. He also praised the Association of the Athenians for deciding to postpone their annual gala to April 17th as a signal of utter respect towards the cause of the Hellenic Hope. Finally, he announced that the AHEPANS donated a computer to the Hellenic Hope.
  The Hon. D. Azemopoulos urged everybody to assist in all possible ways the Hellenic Hope, for the major human tasks the Foundation is performing (Saturday, February 27th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, attended the religious service of the B' XAIRETISMOI (Second Salutation to the Holy Mother of God-Theotokos) at the Greek Orthodox Church of Metamorphosis tou Sotiros (Transfiguration of the Redeemer). The Hon. Consul General chanted the Akathistos, read the Prayer to the Mother of God (B' XAIRETISMOI) and said the Apostles' Creed (Friday, February 26th, 2010).

• The Hon. D. Azemopoulos joined by the Hon. Eleni Karageorgiou and the Hon. Christos Gribas, the Consular officers Mr. A. Tolios, Ms. Efstratia Karagrigoriou, Ms. A. Schepelevich, Mrs. A. Saradidis (Principal of the Metamorphosis Greek Orthodox School), Mr. Th. Aravossitas (teacher at the Greek Community), Mr. Duthel (Principal of the Lycée français de Toronto), and Mrs. Corinne Nash (Educational counselor), Mrs. Masson (Literature teacher) and Valerie Machi (member of the Board) from the Lycée français de Toronto.
  The purpose of the meeting was to finalize the details, logistics and aspects of the event of ‘’Greek Week’’ to take place from April 19-24th at the Lycée français de Toronto. The event will be under the auspices of the Consul Generals of Greece and France in Toronto, the Hons. D. Azemopoulos and J. Cauchard respectively. It aims at strengthening even more the excellent and multi-dimensional cooperation between the two Consulates, to the benefit of the Youth. (Toronto, February 26th 2010).
  After the meeting the Principal of the Lycée français de Toronto (www.lft.ca) Mr. Dominique Duthel made the following statement:
  "Nous sommes très heureux et honorés de la mise en place d’une semaine de la Grèce au Lycée Français de Toronto en partenariat avec le consulat général de Grèce. Ce sera l’occasion pour notre communauté de découvrir la culture, l’histoire et la beauté de la Grèce. La rencontre entre nos élèves et ceux de l’école grecque de Toronto nous semble également une étape importante pour développer une coopération entre nos écoles. Merci à Dimitris Azemopoulos et à toute son équipe pour leur formidable accueil! "

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, addressed the Annual Welcome Dinner and Annual General Meeting of the Hellenic Canadian Board of Trade (HCBT), which were, successfully, held on Thursday, February 25th, 2010 at the King Edward Hotel. With talk of the Greek economy very prevalent and with the upcoming Canadian Trade Mission to Greece in May, the HCBT put together a panel to discuss these hot topics. The panel consisted of Mr. Christos Gribas, Trade Commissioner with the Consulate General of Greece in Toronto, Mr. Peter Souchleris businessman, and Mr. Bill Macheras A/Deputy Director of the Trade Commissioners Service (Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada). Business achievement awards were bestowed to two Hellenic-Canadian businesses. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award recipients were Mr. Tom and Mrs. Zabeta Dimakopoulos of Ellas Banquet Hall, while the Entrepreneurship Award recipient was Mr. Tony Lourakis of Complete Innovations Inc (Toronto, February 25th, 2010).

• Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, the Honorable Consul General of Greece, with Mr. Alex Gropper, President of Canadian Institute for Mediterranean Studies and Ms. Hara Androutsou, Consular Officer at the Consulate General of Greece (February 25th 2010).

• The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, with the Presidium of Athenians' Association. The purpose of the meeting was to finalise the details of the Annual Gala of the Association, which will take place on April 17th, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Greece in Toronto. The event will have this year a very significant cultural aspect to honor Athens, the cultural capital of the world.
  To be noted that the Association of the Athenians most kindly postponed their Gala due initially to take place on February 27th in order to assist the Hellenic Hope to better organise its own Gala programmed for that same date. The Consul General thanked once more the Athenians for such an unprecedented gesture and decision. The Athenians will be present with 10 members from their Presidium at the Gala of the Hellenic Hope on February 27th, fully supporting the noble cause of the Foundation (February 25th 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, received at his Residence the Presidents of the Associations of the Aegean Islands and the Presidium of the Federation of the Aegean Islands. The purpose of the meeting was the finalisation of the details concerning the organisation of a major reunion event named ''SPLENDID AEGEAN''. The event will take place on May 15th, under the auspices of the General Consulate of Greece in Toronto (Consular Residence, February 23rd, 2010).

• The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, joined by Rev. Fr. Apostolos Drakos (Greek Orthodox Church of Saints Constantine and Helen).

• The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, joined by the Honorable Margarett Best, Minister of Health Promotion. They have both repeatedly expressed their full support and unconditional commitment to the noble initiatives of the Toronto East General Hospital, in particular those connected with the Taste of the Danforth Summer Festival.

• The Honorable D. Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, attended the Vesper celebrated by His Eminence the Ukrainian Archbishop Jury, His Grace the Bishop Christophoros and 30 priests of Greek, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian origin. The service took place at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation of Virgin Mary. More than 700 faithful Christians were present honoring the Day of the Orthodoxy. • The Honorable D. Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, addressed the most successful annual event '' Arcadikos Mezes'' of the Panarcadian Federation of Canada. The event was attended by almost 800 Greek Canadians from Arcadia (Toronto, February 21st, 2010).

• The Hon. Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, joined by Mrs. D. Jovanovich (President of the Association of Trifylion Messinias) and Mrs. E. Banks (President of the Association of Voiotia) (Toronto, February 20th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, attended the religious service of the A' XAIRETISMOI (First Salutation to the Holy Mother of God-Theotokos) on Friday, February 19th, and the religious service of the 3rd Saturday of the Souls-Miracle of St. Theodore, on Saturday, February 20th. Both services took place at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Demetrios.
  The Consul General chanted the Hymn of the Akathistos and read the Prayer to the Mother of God (A' XAIRETISMOI). He also cited the Apostles' Creed and read the Apostle's text (Religious Service of the 3rd Saturday of the Souls).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, joined by Mr. Domenico Machi, officer of the Italian Consulate General in Toronto and Ms. Valérie Machi Ruggi, Membre du Conseil d'aministration du Lycée Français de Toronto. The purpose of the meeting was to finalize the organization of a Hellenic Week at the LYCEE FRANCAIS DE TORONTO next April. The Consul General thanked the Board of the LYCEE FRANCAIS DE TORONTO for such an important initiative in the context of the excellent cooperation between the Consulate General of Greece and the Consulate General of France in Toronto (February 18th, 2010).

• With the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver in full swing, the Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, spoke extensively on TV and Radio (The Wine Ladies Show. It’s All Greek to me.) about the birth of the Olympics, the origin and the history of the games, the culture, the cuisine and the wines of the Olympics’ birth country, Greece. • The Honorable Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, joined by Mr. Spyros Kapodistrias (President of Toronto Hellenic Soccer Club), Mr. Bill Tsapralis, Mr. Chris Karayannopoulos, Mr. John Polavoris and Mr. Chris Takas (February 17th 2010). The purpose of the introductory meeting was to discuss the notion of establishing an annual soccer tournament in Toronto. The participating soccer teams would comprise of soccer teams with players of various ages representing organizations from local, regional or international communities. The objective or goal of this project is to promote and/or enhance Greek heritage, culture, goodwill, friendship and business relations within the Greek community.

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, joined by Mr. George Katsikis, Mr. George Hristopoulos, Mr. Pericles Manolis, Mr. George Mytaras and Mr. Argyris Konstantinou. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the launching of the ‘’Σύλλογος Φιλάθλων Εθνικής Ελλάδος στο Τορόντο (ΣΦΕΕΤ)’’. The fundamental objective of the ΣΦΕΕΤ which will be operational in the near future is to add to the strengthening of the spirit of unity and pride of the youth of the Hellenic Diaspora in the Greater Toronto Area. The Honorable Consul General stressed that the efforts of Greek National Teams in all sports should always be one of the epicenters around which our devotion to our Nation can be visibly manifested. In this spirit, Mr. D. Azemopoulos expressed his full support to the ΣΦΕΕΤ and wholeheartedly congratulated the above members of the Presidium for their initiative (Consular Residence, February 11th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, attended the special Sunday service organized by the Association of Messinion Papaflessas-Ipapanti at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. John. The purpose of the service, which followed the Sunday Holy Liturgy was to venerate, on the occasion of the celebration of the religious Feast of Ipapanti, the Holy Icon of Ipapanti that the Association of Messinion donated to the Church years ago, as a signal of the profound respect and faith of the Messinians towards the Theotokos (Toronto, February 7th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, attended and addressed the annual dinner of the Greek Orthodox Church Markham Sts. Panteleimon, Anna and Paraskevi at Markham (Toronto, February 6th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, attended and addressed an amazingly successful 13th Annual Professionals' Gala organized jointly by the Hellenic-Canadian Lawyers' Association, the Asclepius Dental Society and the Hippocrates Hellenic Canadian Medical Association. The event was attended by more than 450 successful young Greek Canadians who declared their will to stick to the values, principles and ideals of our Nation for the years to come, in a spirit of unity, solidarity and pride for their Motherland. The Hon. D. Azemopoulos while congratulating the organizers for their unique event underlined his full and unconditional support to the young and most promising Greek Canadian scientists (Toronto, February 6th, 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, joined by Mr. Sam Galanis, Sponsorship Director and Mr. Alkis Zisidis, Toronto representative of the Hellenic Ball Hockey Association.Mr. Galanis and Mr. Zisidis presented the Consul General with a team picture signed by all coaches and players of the HBHA honoring the Consul General for his commitment and support (February 3rd 2010).
  The Hon. Azemopoulos wholeheartedly congratulated the Hellenic Ball Hockey Association (HBHA) on its amazing accomplishment in winning the golden medal in the 2009 World Ball Hockey Championship in the Czech Republic.

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, participated at the 1st meeting of the General Assembly of the Pan Macedonian Association. He addressed the meeting and cut together with the Honorable President Mr. Jim Karas and the Presidium of the prestigious Organization the vassilopita. The Hon. D. Azemopoulos praised the Organization (which is an "umbrella" of 50 other organizations) for the impeccable ways and means always used to promote the eternal ideals of Hellenism and the undying Historical Truths of our Nation in Canada and Greater Toronto Area in particular. It was agreed that the next meeting of the Executive Board will take place at the Consular Residence as a tangible proof of the immense respect that the Hon. Consul General has for the Pan Macedonian Association under the inspiring leadership of the Hon. D. Karas (Toronto, 28 January 2010).

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece attended the most successful Carnival Dance organised by the Hellenic Canadian Community of York Region. The purpose of the Dance was to celebrate Carnival before the commencement of Great Lent for the Greek Orthodox and also to showcase the students through various greek dances, (Toronto, 30 January 2010).

• The Hon. Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece, hosted a very successful reception during which the President of the AHEPA- Toronto the Hon. Andreas Stavropoulos, in co-operation with the Head of the Education Department of the Gen. Consulate the Hon. Eleni Karageorgiou, donated 31 computers to the Greek Schools of the Hellenic Diaspora in Toronto.
  The Hon. Ministers Margarett Best and Sophia Angelonitis attended the whole event and were key note speakers. The event was honored also by the participation of His Grace Bishop Hristoforos representing His Eminence the Archbishop Sotirios, the Director of the Theological Academy Father Ignatios, Ms. V. Rizou representing the President of the Greek Community, leaders of the Greek and Cypriot Associations and Federations, leaders of various institutions and associations including the prestigious Hellenic Home and the Hellenic Hope Foundations, the Hellenic Canadian Board of Trade and the Hellenic Canadian Lawyers Association, Professors of Universities, University students excelling in their studies, distinguished journalists of the Diaspora and above all the teachers of the young Hellenes in Toronto. The latter ones were highly commended by all the speakers for their immense efforts to keep the flame of Hellenism alive in Canada, in spite of the very difficult conditions of today.
  Several awards were bestowed to Greek-Canadians as well as Cypriot-Canadians for their remarkable contribution in the society. In particular, the Hon. Sophia Angelonitis was awarded with a written and well deserved acknowledgment co-signed by the Consul General of Greece the Hon. Dimitris Azemopoulos and the President of the AHEPA - Toronto the Hon. Andreas Stavropoulos for her outstanding contribution in preserving the everlasting principles and undying values of Hellenism in Canada as well as for her high integrity in politics. A special award was also given to the Hon. M. Best for her support towards the Greek Community. The Hon. Consul General congratulated once more the Ontario Government for bringing the Pan American Games of 2015 to Toronto. He stressed the excellent level of co-operation with the Hon. Premier Dalton McGuinty.
  The Hon. Dimitris Azemopoulos, while addressing his 150 distinguished guests, stressed the current imperative need to build as many bridges as possible between all the living forces of Hellenism in Toronto, in a spirit of unity and solidarity and with a clear vision of the future. This is the only possible way to move safely ahead and successfully face the challenges of tomorrow.
  The Honorable Consul General concluded by warmly and most sincerely thanking the AHEPA Family for their amazing donation of 31 computers to the Greek Community. He stressed that the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) is the largest and oldest Northern American-based, Greek heritage grassroots membership organization with 30.000 active members today. Its scope is international an most commendable with chapters in the United States, Canada, Greece, and Cyprus, Australia and New Zealand. Today, AHEPA promotes to the maximum the ideals of ancient Greece, which includes philanthropy, education, civic responsibility, and family and individual excellence to the community (Toronto, January 28th 2010).

To be noted that the Association of the Athenians held its General Assembly, for the first time, at the Consular Residence with the active participation of the Hon. D. Azemopoulos himself. The Consul General, who is a member of the Association of the Athenians due to his origin, praised the members of the General Assembly for their decision that night to postpone their annual dance, initially scheduled to take place on February 27th, in order to help HELLENIC HOPE maximize the number of guests attending its own Gala due to take place also on February 27th. The annual Dance of the Athenians, which this year will include a cultural dimension and an award ceremony, apart from that of entertainment, will take place at a later stage, under the auspices of the Consul General. Another decision of the General Assembly was the co-organization of a cultural event together with the Greek University Students, under the auspices of the General Consulate (Consular Residence, Monday, January 27th, 2010).

While addressing the audience, the Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos underlined that ''nowadays there are only very few things than can inspire us, fill our hearts with joy, forge our unity and make us feel strong. In this context, the collective and extremely successful effort of the Nefeli should be praised for sending out to the Hellenic Diaspora the right signals at the right time''. The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos thanked in particular Mr. Ilias Koutinas and Ms. Nancy Athanassopoulos for their inspiring leadership, decisive role and bold initiatives in the most important fields of Youth and Culture. The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos, while stressing that the performace was tantamount to those of the best theatres in Athens, wholeheartedly congratulated all the actors for their amazing and impeccable talent.

The program of this spectacular event included, among others, the public acknowledgment for an outstanding contribution rendered by distinguished personalities of the Greek Diaspora in Toronto as well as a public encouragement to distinguished students - leaders of the Hellenic Associations of the Universities of Toronto, York and Ryerson. More than 750 guests, among whom the majority was Youth, celebrated in a spirit of unity that night, bearing though always in mind that the recognition and honoring of the Pontian Genocide remains a top priority for all of us (Toronto, January 9th, 2010).
  
  The BROTHERHOOD PONTION TORONTO "PANAGIA SOUMELA unanimously conferred to Hon. Dimitris Azemopoulos the title of the Honorary President of their historic Association, underlining that this is the first time that such a distinction is awarded to any Greek diplomat serving in Toronto.

• The Honorable Dimitris Azemopoulos,Consul General of Greece, co-organised with the Greek Students' Association of the University of Toronto an Academic Night at the Hart House of the UfT. This very successful event was the first of a series of similar events to be organised by the Greek Students Associations with the cooperation of the Consulate General of Greece. It was attended by more than 100 guests. Its program included, among others, the following 3 lectures: ''The metics of classic Athens'', (Prof. Ben Akrigg), ''Exploring the International Spirit: Life in the Cyclades in the early Bronze Age'' (Dr. Jill Hidditch), and ''Long Distance Exchange in the Greek Bronze Age'' (Prof. Carl Knappett). (Toronto, January 8th, 2010).The Greek Students' Association, or GSA, is a commendable student run group at the University of Toronto: St. George Campus. Their mission is to bring students of Greek descent together as often as possible to celebrate our heritage and share in the experience of university. They are doing an amazing job as a group. They should therefore be assisted wholeheartedly by the Greek Diaspora in Toronto.

• The Hon. Dimitris Azemopoulos, Consul General of Greece in Toronto, joined by His Eminence Sotirios, Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Canada. (Toronto, January 8th, 2010).

• His Eminence Sotirios, Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Canada blessed, on the occasion of the Epiphany, the premises of the Consulate General of Greece in Toronto. The religious ceremony was attended by all the staff as well as the Hon. Consul General of Cyprus (January 8th, 2010).

The vesper was celebrated by His Eminence Sotirios the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Canada who was assisted by the Reverend Fathers of Greek Orthodox churches of the Greater Toronto Area. • The Hon. Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, attended the Epiphany Service at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Demetrios (January 6th, 2010). The service was celebrated by His Eminence the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Canada Sotirios. The main message conveyed by the Archbishop to the hundreds of faithful attending the service was that pure Christian love is the only way to salvation.

• The Hon. Consul General of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Azemopoulos, attended the Pre - Epiphany Service at the Greek Orthodox Church of Prophet Elias in Mississauga (January 5th, 2010)

• The Honourable Dimitris Azemopoulos Consul General of Greece joined by the Honourable Margarett Best Minister of Health Promotion and the Greek Canadian goalkeeper of the national soccer team of Canada Mr. Kenny Stamatopoulos (Toronto, January 5th, 2010). Mr Azemopoulos, while extending to the Hon. Minister his best wishes for a constructive and prosperous New Year, praised her for all her endeavors and achievements in the areas of chronic disease prevention, physical activity, sport participation, injury prevention and mental wellness. A special mention was made to Minister's successful efforts in bringing the Panamerican Games of 2015 in Toronto.
